The Ethiopian Community EDIR

A highly successful general meeting was conducted by the Ethiopians andEthiopian-Americansin in Dallas Fort Worth, on Sunday, May 18th, 2008 at 4:00 pm at the Quality Inn Hotel. The agenda of this meeting was the consideration of the draft regulation for DFW Ethiopians Funeral Assistance (ECFA/ Edir). More than 150 people attended the public meeting to discuss the Edir project. After more than three hours of an intense discussion on the topic, the draft regulation for DFW EthiopiansFuneral Assistance (Edir) was ratified by a vast majority of those who attended the general meeting thereby establishing the EthiopianEDIr.The Ethiopian EDIR (EE) was established in August 2008 by voluntary Ethiopians/Ethiopian-Americans legally residing in DFW, TX. designated for a specific purpose in assisting participants only to cover funeral expenses. It has its own regulation to run its operations..
